Visit Bari

THE CITY OF BARI

In the beating heart of Puglia

Bari, a dynamic capital overlooking the Adriatic Sea, is the ideal gateway to discovering the authentic soul of Puglia. The city blends millennia of history with the lively rhythm of the present: from the labyrinth of Bari Vecchia, with the majestic Basilica of San Nicola – a destination for pilgrims from all over the world – to the understated Cathedral of San Sabino and the imposing Swabian Castle, a Norman-Swabian symbol.
The Lungomare Nazario Sauro, among the most scenic in Italy, invites you to sunset strolls, while the Petruzzelli Theatre enchants with its neoclassical grandeur.

Bari is also about flavor: handmade orecchiette, steaming burrata, and raw fish tell the story of Apulian tradition. Just steps from the center, the beach of Pane e Pomodoro offers moments of crystal-clear sea. Within 50 km, Polignano a Mare amazes with sea caves and cliffs, Monopoli seduces with its ancient port, Alberobello fascinates with its UNESCO trulli, and the Castellana Caves hypnotize with millennial stalactites.

From Bari, an authentic crossroads of cultures, perfect itineraries depart to experience Puglia: sea, villages, history, and unforgettable flavors. A place to discover, love, and remember.

Polignano a Mare (35 km)

This seaside village hypnotizes with its cliffs plunging into the sea. Not to be missed are Lama Monachile, an iconic cove nestled between white houses, and the sea caves, which can be visited by boat for a spectacle of caverns and turquoise waters.

THE CITY OF BARI

An ancient port and an elegant historic center make Monopoli a coastal pearl. Must-see attractions include the Castle of Carlo V, a Renaissance fortress on the sea, and the Cathedral of Maria Santissima della Madia, a Baroque masterpiece rich in artistic treasures.

Alberobello (55 km)

A UNESCO World Heritage site, it fascinates with its cone-shaped trulli. Visit the Rione Monti, a labyrinth of 1,000 unique dwellings, and the Trullo Sovrano, a grand example with frescoed rooms and an internal museum.

Castellana Caves (50 km)

An underground wonder spanning 3 km: walk through the White Cave, with its candid stalactites, and the Cave of Civilization, striking with millennial formations magically illuminated.

Conversano (35 km)

A medieval village set among ancient olive trees. Discover the Barrese Castle, an imposing stronghold with frescoes, and the Cathedral of San Giuseppe, a Romanesque cathedral with a sculpted portal.

Alta Murgia

The Alta Murgia is an essential and surprising land, where the landscape opens into stony expanses, historic masserie, and silences that tell the story of the most authentic Puglia. Here, the Alta Murgia National Park offers itineraries through nature, archaeology, and rural traditions, while the evocative Castel del Monte, a UNESCO World Heritage site, dominates the territory with its perfect geometry and timeless charm.

Itria Valley

The Itria Valley is a mosaic of white villages, ancient olive trees, and countryside dotted with trulli. Among the most iconic stops are Alberobello, with its famous UNESCO trulli, and Locorotondo, one of Italy's most elegant villages, known for its circular historic center and views over the valley. It is a territory that invites you to slow down, amidst authentic flavors, bright narrow streets, and rural scenery of great harmony.

Trani

Trani is one of the most fascinating cities on the Adriatic coast, elegant and evocative in every season. The Cathedral by the sea, the symbol of the city, enchants with its scenic position, while the Swabian Castle tells its millennial history overlooking the water. Strolling through the port and the historic center means experiencing a refined atmosphere, amidst light-colored stone, the sea, and architecture of great prestige.

Bari Hinterland

The Bari hinterland preserves villages, countryside, and places that tell the most genuine identity of the territory. Among the destinations not to be missed are Gravina in Puglia, with its bridge over the ravine of the same name and the historic center carved into the rock, and Conversano, a noble village dominated by its medieval castle and the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta. It is a perfect area for those seeking culture, rural landscapes, and authenticity away from the beaten path.
